Welcome. I’m Ciera, a sex and relationship therapist.

I specialize in queer clients who have left high-demand religions, body issues, and shame recovery.

I help my clients create peace within themselves, find acceptance of their body and sexuality, and reestablish a sense of meaning and belonging in their lives.

Is any of this familiar to you?

-You used to belong to a religion or faith community. You are either currently questioning if you still belong or you’ve made the painful decision to leave.

-You struggle with your decision to leave. You might feel guilty, even though you know you did what is best for you.

-You’ve experienced purity culture and can’t shake the lingering impacts on your sexual wellbeing.

-You carry shame with you all the time.

-You want to feel free and comfortable in your sexuality, but you feel held back and unable to access that freedom.

-You feel conflicted about relationships with family and friends who are still in the religion and might hold homophobic views. It’s hard to balance your love for them with your need to protect yourself.

-Your mind and your emotions are at odds. You don’t understand why you feel shame and guilt when your mind tells you that you aren’t doing anything wrong.

-The terms ‘church hurt,’ ‘religious trauma,’ ‘spiritual abuse,’ and ‘deconstruction,’ might resonate with you.

Leaving a religion or faith-based community can be completely overwhelming. It can feel like you have to rebuild yourself and your understanding of the world from the ground up. It certainly felt like that for me. There isn’t a roadmap for who to understand what happened to you, who you are now, how to heal, and how to move forward. I help my clients create that roadmap for themselves. I offer gentle guidance and structure, creating a path forward.
